140G0124Q0123 Amendment 001 Vendor Q&A

1) Color and sheen of paint desired isn’t mentioned. Is only one color required and if so which one. Walls are typically painted in satin or an eggshell sheen.

a. Eggshell – Color TBD – Need 2 coats for complete coverage with a primer.

2) The solicitation says a level 5 drywall finish over cinder block and wallboard. I only see from the pictures a small section of cinder block. What substrate is under the wall- paper? Cinder block, wallboard, concrete?

a. Unknown. Appears to be a wallboard but unknown material.

3) Operating hours are listed to be M-F 7:30-4:30 p.m. Tearing down wallpaper, re-mudding, and painting are messy affairs would we be able to perform the specified work over the weekend when closed as to not disrupt government activities?

a. We would approve this.

4) Cinder block can’t just be mudded over without first applying a coat of an elastomeric sealant. Is that what needs to be done? There is a difference in temperature between drywall mud and cinderblock this difference can lead to the mud becoming brittle in time, it’s generally not recommended to mud over cinder block. Usually cinder block is treated with a block filling primer then painted two coats.

a. This would be acceptable.

5) Do you know the age of the wallpaper, the type of wallpaper, the number of layers?

a. Unknown age – over 20 years.. One layer, type unknown.

6) Is all the wall space under the wall paper what needs a level 5 mudded finish?

a. Correct.

7) Clarification requested on period of performance of 80 days, whereas the statement of work indicates a period of performance spanning 90 days.

a. Final POP will be determined at award. POP will likely be 90 days ARO.
