Questions and Answers

Question 1: Can you clarify the nature of the anoxic sediment survey and the degree to which microinvertebrates present in this sediment sample need to be collected and identified?

Answer 1: The purpose of the anoxic sediment survey is to document the presence of the anoxic layer within the survey areas (percent cover in each survey cell) and to document “in the field observations” of the presence or absence of invertebrates within the anoxic sediment layer. (pg 5 last paragraph of SOW). No collection or identification of invertebrates is required. (Attachment 2 of SOW, Sample Data Collection Documentation forms)
