About this file
This is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) amendment document for federal contract opportunity 140FGA26Q0022 concerning Boardwalk Materials. The document addresses three substantive inquiries from potential offerors regarding material specifications and scope requirements.
The first clarification concerns fiberglass material specifications, confirming that helical piles are not an acceptable alternate to fiberglass due to soil corrosivity at the project site. The second addresses Staff Access Gates specifications on the west boardwalk, clarifying that the four-foot dimension refers to the total overall width of the gate assembly rather than the clear opening width, and that individual gates will not be adjacent to one another. The third addresses abutment materials scope, confirming that since this is strictly a materials-only solicitation, concrete, formwork, and associated materials for casting abutments are excluded from the material supply scope, with the exception of appurtenances directly associated with those items. The document references SOW Section I.A.3 and PermaTrak precast concrete boardwalk deck modules as specification references.

140FGA26Q0022- Boardwalk Materials Amendment 1 – Q&A Doc
Can you confirm helical piles are an acceptable alternate to fiberglass? And if so, do they have to still be 3/8" thick?
ANSWER: The soils would be too corrosive for this swap.
Staff Access Gates: The Statement of Work mentions providing two four-foot gates on each side of the west boardwalk. Could you please clarify if the "four-foot" dimension refers to the clear opening width required for each gate, or if it represents the total overall width of the gate assembly?
ANSWER: It is the width of the gate assembly. Each gate will not be adjacent to each other.
Abutments: SOW Section I.A.3 specifies the PermaTrak precast concrete boardwalk deck modules, and the drawing set includes details for the abutments. Since this solicitation is strictly for materials only, could you confirm if the concrete and formwork materials required for casting the abutments are to be included in our material supply scope?
ANSWER: The concrete, form work, and any other material, except appurtenances associated with those items, are not required for this solicitation.
