About this file

This document is an amendment to Solicitation Number 140FC324R0005 for the AK Selawik NWR Storage Facility project. The amendment provides clarifications and answers to several questions regarding the project specifications, including:

  • The specification for finishing a gym slab on grade is not applicable to this maintenance shop floor project.
  • The pultruded grating specification is a basis of design, not a mandated manufacturer.
  • There is no specified minimum number of years of experience required for the roof installers.
  • The back side of access panels that would be visible when opened should be painted.
  • Concrete hardstand is an acceptable alternative to the specified asphalt pavement.
  • Structural engineering does not need to be provided by the general contractor's management team, but can be subcontracted.
  • The contractor is responsible for completing the design, as the provided conceptual design is not fully developed.
  • Door hardware specifications and details will be provided in Section 08 1113.

The solicitation is for a construction project with a magnitude of $1M to $5M, to be performed from June 2024 to December 2025 for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

documented experience. What are the number of years?

Answer: Installer number of years was not specified in the specs. As long as manufacturer¿s installation instructions are followed and all performance specifications are met for the roof, FWS will not require a specific number of years experience for the installers.
