About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for solicitation 140FC226Q0035, issued by the Department of the Interior Fish and Wildlife Service for the rehabilitation of a multipurpose building at Rhode Island's Ninigret National Wildlife Refuge.
The document addresses two clarifications regarding construction specifications: (1) regarding cement work, contractors may add dye or color to match existing cement, with the requirement that remaining (existing) cement remain in place; and (2) regarding building front flashing where siding meets lower roof areas, no flashing replacement is required as the flashing is located at metal roof areas that are outside the scope of this contract. This Q&A document does not address pricing, response dates, award dates, or other contractual terms.

Answer: For the cement, a dye could be added to match the remaining cement. The remaining (existing) cement shall be left in place.
2. On the front of the building, where the siding meets the lower roof areas, should that flashing be replaced and if so should it be green?
Answer: On the front of the building, where the siding meets the lower roof areas, the flashing does not require replacement. The flashing is at the metal roof areas, where the metal roofing is not a part of this contract.
