About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) clarification issued for an electrical infrastructure upgrade project. The file addresses four key areas of vendor concern regarding the Statement of Work (SOW) and project requirements.
The clarifications confirm that vendors should disregard clerical errors in the SOW referencing septic systems, wastewater infrastructure, and doors, as these items are not relevant to the project. For the electrical panel upgrade requiring an additional 50 amps, full panel replacement is not mandatory if the existing panel can safely accommodate the increased capacity; only the source breaker and feeder conductors require consideration for replacement. Vendors may propose directional boring as a line-item alternate for running conduit from the Headquarters flower bed to the green space on the east side of the garage, though the primary approach is to utilize existing conduit unless deemed unsuitable. The 50-amp RV-capable receptacle must be installed on the building exterior in compliance with applicable electrical codes for new exterior installations. The document emphasizes that a recent site visit provided vendors an opportunity to assess actual field conditions and identify any discrepancies between documented requirements and on-site circumstances.

1. Quoting Instructions: The recent site visit highlighted several notable discrepancies between the Statement of Work (SOW) and actual field conditions. Vendors were strongly encouraged to participate in the site visit so everyone would have a fair opportunity to assess the location firsthand and identify any unique challenges or requirements not clearly addressed in the SOW. Regarding the clerical errors found in the SOW, such as references to "septic system overflow alarms," "wastewater infrastructure," and "doors," please disregard these items, as they do not pertain to this particular project.
2. Panel Replacement Clarification: To address the question about the garage panel, a full replacement is not necessary if the existing box can safely support the additional 50 amps required for the upgrade. Only the source breaker and feeder conductors need to be considered for replacement, provided the panel is capable of handling the increased capacity.
3. Alternative Proposal – Directional Bore: If you wish to propose a line-item alternate for directional boring from the Headquarters flower bed to the green space on the east side of the garage, you are welcome to do so. However, the primary plan remains to utilize the existing conduit for running the wire unless it is determined to be unsuitable. The option for directional boring should be presented as an alternative in your quote.
4. Exterior RV Receptacle: The requested 50-amp RV-capable receptacle is to be installed on the exterior of the building. Please ensure this installation meets code requirements for new exterior installations.
