Amendment 3 – Questions and Answers
1. Will contractor need to seed and blanket the in-slopes when they are finished topsoiling?
What seed mix would be specified? A: No reseeding or blankets required.
2. The contractor observed that the slope on both sides of the road needed to be shaped, is this what the government is requesting?
Would the road shape in question be a 3/1 or 4/1 grade on the in-slope? A: Slope should be approximately 3:1. Slope just needs to be repaired where stumps and will be removed and any other degraded areas.
3. While reviewing the project, contractor found only one large tree on the in-slope but lots of stumps and trees that have already been removed laying on the toe of the back slope across the ditch. A: Trees along the other sides of ditches do not need to be moved
