About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for an Intrusion Detection and Fire System Request for Quote (RFQ) with the solicitation number 140F1S25Q0064, related to the Bald Knob National Wildlife Refuge Fire & Security Systems project. The Q&A addresses three key points: performance timeframe, product specifications, and fire system cabling requirements.

Regarding the fire system installation, two existing smoke detectors in the hallway can be retained, while a third smoke detector near the front door will require new wiring and installation. The solicitation is issued by the Department of the Interior Fish and Wildlife Service, targeting fire and security system upgrades at the Bald Knob National Wildlife Refuge.

2. Product Specification – DMP vs. Honeywell:
The specifications reference DMP products. Could you confirm whether the requirement is brand-name only (DMP) or if Honeywell products meeting all salient characteristics would be considered acceptable equivalents? DMP and Honeywell products meeting all salient characteristics will be considered acceptable equivalents.
3. Is the fire system getting new cabling for the existing devices that were noted? The three smoke detectors. The two existing smoke detectors in the hallway are ceiling mounted, hard wired and that those can be used and do not need to be replaced.
