140F0519Q0124 – Signs – Amendment 1 – Q&A Document

1. The Service will provide the manufacturer an Excel spreadsheet showing the number of signs that need to be shipped to each Service location. The manufacturer will ship out the signs within 12 weeks of receiving the location information. It is anticipated that signs will be mailed to as many as 150 locations. Additional signs will be sent to Regional and Headquarters staff in case signs need to be replaced or additional facilities need signage. Providing an average price to ship per location is acceptable.

Unfortunately, we will not know the locations of delivery until a couple of weeks after the award will be made. We will not be evaluating a shipping price at this time. Please just quote for the price of the signs and once the locations are known, the awarded vendor will be reimbursed for all shipping costs.

2. Will this list be provided before or after the close date? This information will be crucial in providing even a rough estimate in shipping cost. Without it I don’t believe our firm, along with probably any other firm, will be able to provide shipping cost.

See above.

3. This asks for 6061-T6 aluminum, is 5052-H38 aluminum acceptable for this solicitation as well?

Unfortunately, our Service manual requires 6061-T6 aluminum.

4. Will the agency accepts bid for signs manufactured using reflective materials other than

3M Brand provided the materials are considered equivalent under the ASTM D 4956-01 retro reflectivity standard?

See above.
