Hardwood Floor Q&A

1.Is there a Bid Bond required for the project because Payment Bond can be issued after Award?

Please refer to page 2 of the solicitation. We only require either a payment bond or an irrevocable letter of credit. These items are to be submitted within 10 days after receipt of award. There are no bid bonds attached to this project or bonds due upon quote submittal.

2.I would recommend a moisture curing polyurethane rather waterborne on the first floor, due to high traffic (ladies high heels and stillettos mark the floor) it will perform ten times better. Is this acceptable?

Material shall remain as stated in the SOW, as follows:

Material: Street Shoe XL Satin Commercial Wood Floor Finish System*, or approved equal, for newly sanded floors.

3.What is the IFB number (invitation for bid)? Will it be the Request No.(item 1) or the

Requisition/Purchase Request No (item 3) in the solicitation form.

This solicitation is a request for quote, not an invitation for bid. The

RFQ/Solicitation number is stated throughout the solicitation, 140F0518Q0072.

4.What is the Bid Bond Amount decided by the government for this solicitation?

Please refer to page 2 of the solicitation. The payment bond or irrevocable letter of credit is required for all quotes priced within the amount stated in the magnitude of construction. A bid bond is not required for this solicitation.

5. In order to complete the work within 15 days time frame, what if we need to bring in a large crew. Is there a preset maximum number of workmen, who will be allowed at the facility?

No.

6. Step Risers – as the drawings and SOW are defined at the present time, the risers are not addressed. I assume we are to refinish the risers as well but want confirmation as to if the stair risers are to be done.

Yes, the risers are to be refinished.
