1. Drawing sheet 7 instructs contractors to see drawing sheet 9 for piling details. There does not appear to be a detail that gives detail for tip elevation or reinforcing requirements on sheet 9. Please clarify.

Answer- See Updated Sheet 9 of 12: Add Detail R9, Steel Shell Piling Rebar Cap.

2. Was there a geotechnical study and report completed during design of this project? If so, could this information be made available to contractors bidding the project?

Answer-No geotechnical study was done.

3. Drawing 5 calls out the piling under the new structures as 14” diameter pipe piling in detail 3. Drawing 7 calls the piling out as steel sheet pile in detail R1. Please clarify.

Answer-The piling should be 14 inch diameter steel shell piling and as specified in Specification Section 02360. The word steel was confused for the word shell on the drawings by the drafter.

4. Specification section 02272 A. 1. states that geogrid is meant to be placed under the kettle structures in addition to the pond 13 bottom. We have not located a detail in the drawings that shows the geogrid under the structures. Could a detail be provided?

Answer-Refer to Sheet 5 of 12 Detail 3 lower left note. Geogrid should be extended 24 inches past the concrete slab all around the new structures.

5. The solicitation for this project allows for 180 contract time and a 60 day evaluation period. This will put earthwork, concrete and other work required in the winter. This will greatly increase the price of performing the work. Is there any possibility that the construction period can begin in May 2023 and run through October 2023 to reduce the pricing?

Answer-The Government will allow the project to begin in the Spring of 2023.

6. On drawing 4 there is a Kettle Plan. Are there 2 of these structures, one on the Kettle 12 side and one on the Kettle 13 side?

Answer-Yes

7. There appears to be electrical receptacles that are mounted on the existing structure. These will have to be removed during demolition and relocated for the new structure construction. There doesn’t appear to be any details in the drawings or specifications that describe what kind of power this is, such as 110V or 220V, or how this is to be installed. Could this be clarified?

Answer-See Updated Sheet 4 of 12: Add General Note #9.
