Questions and Answers for Solicitation 140F0121Q0007
1. What is the timeline or lifespan for the Management Plan - is this going to be a document that outlines 5, 10, 20 years of refuge management, or is it more general than that?
ANSWER: The plan will accompany the refuge Comprehensive Conservation Plan which gets updated every 15 years. This plan will similarly be updated every 15 years.
2. Is there existing vegetation monitoring data for the refuge? If not, is there room in the budget for any amount of field work?
ANSWER: There is limited vegetation monitoring data available. Surveys have been conducted in the past but it is not a fine scale, comprehensive data set. We also have a Habitat Assessment conducted in 2018. There is not additional funding to cover a vegetation survey, but a site visit to get a first-hand assessment may be possible.
3. Is there a required training or official qualification for the "Open Standards" planning process?
ANSWER: There is no required training or qualification needed for Open Standards. We just need a final product that conforms to that.
