About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for the AIRR Shelving Solicitation, Solicitation Number 140D0425Q0169. The Q&A addresses several key details about the procurement of 300 shelving units for the American Indian Records Repository (AIRR). Key clarifications include that the contractor is responsible for sourcing the shelving units, a layout will be provided in a future solicitation amendment, and the shelving units do not need to be standalone. Additional specifications confirmed include acceptance of 600lbs shelf capacity (instead of 800lbs), baked-on powder coat paint for frames and shelves, and flexibility in shelving unit configuration (not requiring all starter units).

AIRR Shelving Solicitation Q&A
140D0425Q0169
1. Could you please confirm whether sourcing the shelving units is part of the contractor’s responsibility, or if there is a specified pickup location? Yes, the shelving should be provided by the contractor.
2. Do you have a layout of the shelving? Yes. A copy of the layout will be provided with the Q&A via the next solicitation amendment.
3. Are the uprights for the shelving units open (legs with cross supports) or closed (solid sheet of steel)? Or, is it a combination of both (closed uprights at the ends of the rows and open uprights for all of the other shelving units)? Not specified as the shelving to be purchased is part of the solicitation
4. Do you want all 300 units stand alone or starter units? example 4 posts, 8 shelves independently assembled. Units do not have to be stand alone
5. Would you consider 600lbs capacity per shelf instead of 800? Yes. This could work.
6. Is baked on powder coat paint for the frames and shelves acceptable? Yes
7. When installing shelving in rows the shelving is priced using starters and adders. Does this RFQ require all starters? Same as 4. Units do not have to be standalone (starters).
