Questions and Answers in Response to Solicitation 140D0424Q0545 for the Museum of the Plains Indian (MPI)
1. Is this a new contract? If not, can you provide the contract number for the incumbent?
This is a new contract, although similar contracts have been awarded in the past at the MPI.
The last award was to Blackfeet Industries (140D0423P0124) for the period June 1, 2023 – September 30, 2023. The award value was $25,392.04. The requirement was for one Admission Fee Technician.
2. How much capital is required?
$100.00 to $350.00.
3. How soon will the contract be awarded?
As soon as possible, there is no exact date yet.
4.
• The IACB will supply a government owned POS cash register for use in museum and all required supplies at no cost to the contractor.
The IACB/MPI has the cash register that we supply as well as handle the maintenance and service to make sure the machine is in working order.
• Contractor is responsible for providing equipment and method to transact credit card and debit card payments.
The IACB/MPI does not provide equipment needed to handle credit card transactions – the contractor needs to provide the equipment or method to process credit card transactions.
These statements seem conflicting. Additionally, the RFQ says:
• Contractor is responsible for providing adequate change in the cash register at the beginning of and throughout each day.
I don’t see where that is conflicting. The cash register is a device/machine where they vendor will be able store the money and keep a running tab of the daily transactions, but the cash register doesn’t handle processing of credit cards. To process credit card transaction the vendor will need to use something to process those transactions (online payment, square card, etc.).
5. [Vendor name] has provided staff for the Museum of the Plains Indian in Browning for four summer seasons (2004-2007) and we very much would like to continue providing staff in response to this RFQ. Is there a possibility of removing the requirement for the contractor to set up their own machine for credit/debit card payments and have those stay directly with the museum?
We need the vendor to be able to accept credit card payment from visitors. Our museum staff are not allowed to collect the funds.
6. How much cash must be kept on hand at all times at the beginning of and throughout each day?
We don’t have a set requirement but recommend $100.00-$350.00. There are many visitors during the peak season and need to be able to provide change to those that are paying by cash.
7. Are vendors responsible for supplying the uniforms for the Admissions Collector and Museum Monitor?
No, there is not a uniform requirement.
8. Will employees have a paid lunch break and if so, how long?
The museum requires coverage for the museum monitor from 8am to 5pm. The admission fee collection is from 8:45am to 5:00pm. We need coverage during the entire time period.
9. Just confirming, the badges we provide do not need photos, correct?
The badges are not required to have photos.
