Statement of Work
This statement of work (SOW) is to provide faculty selected textbook titles in print and eBooks to students on campus or shipped to their residence for one academic school year with the possibility of four
(4) option years.
Background Haskell Indian Nations University (HINU) is located in Lawrence, Kansas. The university’s Tommaney Library provides academic library services in physical and digital space, information specialists, and Indigenous resources. The library has previously provided all print textbook services to students. To meet the individualized learning preferences and access to WiFi, contracting textbook services would allow students to select the format of their choice.
Objectives The Contractor will ship textbooks to students, on or off campus. Contractor will create an online bookstore store for students to select their course materials in all formats available: eBook, new, used, or rental. Contractor will provide course material changes and service to use products. Contractor will provide shipping return labels when applicable. Contractor will provide training to library staff for the local textbook distribution and equipment. The price is variable due to the faculty’s choice in title and the number of students enrolled. By allowing students to choose their format, the cost is variable
Scope In fulfillment of Haskell’s federal mission, Tommaney Library seeks to provide the best in digital and print resources to support the curriculum of faculty for students in their research capacity. eCampus will be the exclusive provider of course materials to students.
Tasks eCampus will:
Build a storefront online bookstore.
Provide online access to shipping and use services.
Accept orders online.
Provide customer support and technical services.
Provide Marketing.
Accept orders online, by phone.
Option to ship to campus or ship to home.
Offer free expedited shipping from eCampus to the library.
Offer free standard shipping to students’ residence.
Offer $5.00 expedited shipping upgrade on orders shipped to students residence.
Offer training and equipment to library staff for distribution and return.
Haskell will:
Not retain other textbook services.
Provide online links to their Bookstore and graphic content for press releases Designates contact person.
Provides material list and course material adoption data.
Market eCampus bookstore during orientation and student meet times.
Purchase non-returnable materials Pay invoices within 30-day period or (1.5%) per month.
Returns of book rentals accepted through Tommaney Library.
Provide accurate materials list, upon award.
Delivery Delivery of packaged textbooks will be to the Tommaney Library and to student residents using various shipping. Electronic resources will be delivered to student email.
Other Unique Requirements Contractors will not be on campus. Staff will be trained to distribute shipped items. No background checks are needed.
Place of Performance Services and drop off points will occur at Haskell Indian Nations University building #127, Tommaney Library.
Period of Performance Contract is from August 1, 2025, to July 31, 2026, with the possibility of four (4) option years.
