14. DESCRIPTION OF AMENDMENT/MODIFICATION (Organized by UCF section headings, including solicitation/contract subject matter where feasible.)
The purpose of this solicitation amendment is to answer the following questions:
1. The specifications call out a stacking height of 2 high. Can you confirm that this requirement intends that the containers need to be able to support another fully loaded container each?
This is not correct. The pods are not stacked. They are to be side by side, combined to make a width of 16'
2. As a heads up, the standard container floor is mostly 1-1/8" deep, but a portion of the standard container floor is within ~1/16 of that. I assume this wouldn't be an issue?

It would be no issue as long as the bottom exterior is flat all across the bottom that would allow the pod to be placed on for cement pillars
(one on each corner).
3. The specifications for the main entry door call out a King Cobra model#KC5000. If the lock is no longer available, would you accept an equivalent?
Yes, as long as the features are the same and the security level is equivalent.
4. On the emergency exit door, what is the intent behind the requirement to have it keyed since there is no exterior hardware?
This is in the event of a fire or some type of hazard to allow people to exit. The exit door should only be used in this instance. The entry door is for entry and exit and is different from the exit door (emergency).
5. Can we replace the specifications fluorescent lights with LED troffer lights for the interior lighting?
As long as the lighting meets the same illumination or exceeds (but not too bright)
a. In general, would equivalent components be okay to be used for standard electrical equipment?
The proposed components have been proven to last in previous builds and the standards are expected with this purchase.
6. There are no references to an intrusion detection system or fire alarm/smoke detection system. Section 2-48-02, B, 6 of the BIA OJS 3rd
Ed. Law Enforcement Handbook suggests that these would be required, "if available." we can offer the installation of these systems if the Agency would like. We have even installed IDS systems that communicate alarms via cellular signals, and we believe that fire alarm systems with this functionality also exist. The requirement is a little vague regarding the definition of
"available," so we would need confirmation that

That is correct. At current, all location sites will be working with their local alarm companies and a separate procurement will occur.
7. Regarding the structure along the seam of the two containers, do we have any design freedom
(such as using our typical seam structure), or would we need to stick with the called-out members on the seam?
We will need to stick with the called-out members on the seam. They have been proven worthy with past purchases.
8. There will be no interior wall finish
(excluding the partition wall) other than spray insulation.
That is correct. Spray insulation only.
