III. SPECIFIC TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
A. Disconnection is required for quantity not to exceed (16) system furniture power supply connections or “whips.” Of the 18 total workstations using systems furniture (cubicles); at least four of the workstations share two common electrical connections. A licensed electrician shall be required to furnish and install all additional materials required for the final electrical connections at Location #2.
The scope includes materials required to convert the existing hard-wired electrical connections at Location #1, to the existing standard 110 Volt electrical outlets for not to exceed quantity (16) different cubicle or workstation locations within Location #2. Please note, total quantity will depend on overall install, system furniture specifications, and number of existing electrical and network connections available at Location #2. B. Network Project requires network connection at Location #2 to provide functionality for the systems furniture (cubicles). Standard desk locations where electrical and network connections will remain unobstructed will be completed by others. Each workstation location within Location #2 is already equipped with a network and power connection installed within the facility’s walls. For each new cubicle where the wall systems will require electrical and network connections, the Contractor shall provide network connectivity between the permanent fixture in the wall, to the adjacent cubicle system. It is assumed that the network connection in the wall will not require modification, and that a “jumper” extension of the network can be used to connect the wall to the furniture system. Contractor shall protect cabling entry to furniture system with the use of grommets or other approved device to ensure secure installation without potential for damage to the cabling jumper. “Cat 6” cabling specification shall be used, no exceptions.
