About this file

Summary

This is a state price quote specification document issued by the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) in Washington state for the solicitation of 71-passenger electric school buses. The document establishes mandatory state-supported specifications and optional district-supported add-ons that vendors must meet or exceed when providing price quotations. Vendors are required to specify their bids for both non-lift and lift bus configurations, with delivery estimated from the time a purchase order is received. The specification document covers comprehensive requirements across chassis, body, motor, batteries, and various mechanical and electrical systems, including a minimum 190 horsepower motor, propulsion battery capacity of at least 130 kWh, seating capacity based on 27.5-inch center-to-center spacing, and various safety and operational features such as LED lighting systems, backup cameras, two-way communications, and heating systems.

Pricing is quoted separately for electric buses without lifts and with lifts, with the understanding that payment is due within 30 days after delivery to the school district and excludes sales tax. Vendors must provide complete warranty information, repair manuals, owner's handbooks, and pre-delivery service and cleaning. This price quote list will be published and made available directly to Washington school districts for ordering purposes rather than establishing contracts with selected dealers. The specification document includes detailed requirements for optional features such as air conditioning, advanced braking systems, noise reduction, video surveillance systems, wheelchair securement systems, and various comfort and safety upgrades that districts may select at additional cost.
