Canvas Awning Replacement Clean, Inspect, and Coat Aluminum Frame On CGC ISAAC MAYO

1. Background & Objective The U.S. Coast Guard requires the renewal of the canvas awnings on the 01 Deck and the Fantail of the Coast Guard Cutter (CGC) ISAAC MAYO. This includes the removal of the existing deteriorated awning, inspection and treatment of the aluminum frame, and the fabrication and installation of a new, marine-grade awning. The objective is to restore overhead protection from weather elements for the crew and deck equipment, ensuring operational readiness and safety.

3. Scope of Work The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to perform the following:

· 3.1 Site Visit & Measurement: Conduct a physical assessment of the FRC at its homeport to take exact measurements for the custom awning. The Site Visit is scheduled for July 07, 2026 90.

· 3.2 Protective Measures: Furnish and install protective coverings to seal off and protect all non-affected vessel's components, equipment, and spaces near the work area. Upon completion, the Contractor shall remove all protective measures and return all areas to their original condition of cleanliness.

· 3.3 Interferences: Handle all interferences in accordance with SFLC Std Spec 0000, paragraph 3.3.5. Known interferences include, but are not limited to, GPS/Radio Antennas and Screen Panels. Any disturbed mounting hardware shall be replaced with new.

· 3.4 Canvas Removal: Carefully detach the existing canvas covers and lacing. Remove from the property and dispose of in accordance with local environmental regulations.

· 3.5 Awning Frame Inspection and Repair: Conduct a visual inspection of all awning support structures and mounting hardware. Any discrepancies shall be documented and a proposed repair plan provided via Condition Found Report (CFR) to the Contracting Officer (KO).

· 3.6 Awning Frame Cleaning and Coating: Clean and Ceramic Coat Aluminum Frame. Remove all visible corrosion from the existing aluminum awning frame using chemical and/or mechanical methods. Coat the exposed aluminum with a suitable outdoor ceramic protectant. Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for any chemicals used must be provided for ship's records.

· 3.7 Fabrication & Specifications: Manufacture replacement awnings meeting the following specifications:

· FRC Awning- Main: Aft Main Deck Sun Shade 750 SQ FT - Lace on Style - OUTER PERIMETER 371" X 292" - TOP GUN FABRIC (Royal Blue, Color Code # 464) - GORE TEX THREAD - BSI# 6233074; PDM-154-ACM

· FRC Awning- 01 Aft: 01 Deck Sun Shade 476 SQ FT - Lace on Style Shade. - OUTER PERIMETER 289" X 249" - TOP GUN FABRIC (Royal Blue, Color Code # 464) - GORE TEX THREAD - BSI# 6233082; PDM 154-AC01

· Lacing Cord: Neo Braid Polyester Cord #6, Black, 3/16" x 1000' Spool

· Hardware: All grommets, snaps, and fasteners must be 316 Marine Grade Stainless Steel or corrosion-resistant marine-equivalent.

· 3.8 Installation: Installation of FRC Main and 01 Deck Awnings (Canvas Only). Install the new awning, lacing, and any required mounting hardware. The awning must be tensioned to ensure a taut, secure fit with no sagging, capable of withstanding high winds and maritime operational conditions.

4. Place of Performance Work will be conducted onboard the USCGC ISAAC MAYO while moored at:

· Location: USCG Sector Key West, 100 Trumbo Point Rd, Key West, FL 33040

· Access: The Contractor must coordinate access with the designated Contracting Officer's Representative (COR), Engineering Officer (EO), or Point of Contact (POC) at least 48 hours in advance.

5. Period of Performance The total period of performance for this project is 45 days from the date of Contract Award.

· Fabrication: Must be completed within 30 days of award.

· Installation Window: Installation is to occur during the vessel’s in-port availability, from June 27 to July 18. This work is to be completed within a consecutive 3-day window coordinated with the cutter's schedule.
