Vendors must pick up a Visitor's Badge at the Visitor's Registration Center located at the Main Gate (Gate A, off Bureau Drive) Please ensure all individuals bring photo identification or they will be denied access to the facility. Not all state-issued driver's licenses can be accepted by NIST. Under the REAL ID Act of 2005, federal agencies, including NIST, can only accept REAL ID-compliant state driver’s licenses. NIST currently accepts other forms of federally issued identification in lieu of a state-issued driver's license, including an original passport, passport card, DOD Common Access Card (CAC), Veteran ID, Federal Agency HSPD-12 IDs, Military Dependent ID, Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC), and TSA Trusted Traveler ID. For each non-U.S. citizen visiting the NIST campus, the form NIST-1260 must be fully completed and submitted. The information submitted will be used to conduct a routine background check of that individual, which must be completed before they can enter the NIST campus.
