51 Please clarify the intent of Drawing 302‐549. There are modification to fuel oil piping and routing of service for the temporary units shown on this drawing.
52 It looks like the details and notes contemplate adding mud drums. If we are providing new boilers for SG‐5 and 6:
Retrofit mud drums for boilers 1 through 4 with CLIN 1a and CLIN 1b.
Provide factory installed drum heaters in units 5 & 6.
53 For SG‐5 and SG‐6… Please confirm the intent is for the boiler manufacturer to integrate concepts into the boiler and provide supplemental technical details for the mud drums in their submittal.
Provide factory installed drum heaters in units 5 & 6.
54 For Boilers B‐1 to B‐4, please confirm the references from 302‐541 (M‐101) to drawing
302‐549 (M‐404) intend for the contractor to retrofit the mud drums on Boilers 1, 2, 3, and 4. This also seems to be indicated on 302‐560.
Retrofit mud drums for boilers 1 through 4 with CLIN 1a and CLIN 1b.
55 For Boilers 1, 2, 3, and 4, the details do not appear adequate to fabricate the boiler mud drums. The boiler mud drums are ASME code stamped pressure vessels and required stamped engineering drawings to perform the work.
The intent is remove end of the existing mud drum and modify them in accordance with the drawings.
56 Please confirm the mud drum modifications for boilers B‐1,2,3, and 4 are code work that is required to be stamped per ASME BVPC Section IX.
The modifications will require the contractor to add an "R" stamp to the boiler nameplate.
57 Please clarify whether the scope should include engineering to advance the details on
302‐549 to engineered stamped drawings for the ASME Code Work?
If the contractor requires additional design to execute the work, it should be included in their proposal.
58 On drawing 302‐549 (M‐404) note 4 indicates the support spacing inside the mud drums. It looks like the spacing is 14’ on center. Please confirm this is adequate.
The intermediate flanges to ease movement of the drum head, also act as supports for the drum heater.
59 On drawing 302‐549 (M‐404) detail 6, please confirm the HPR lines should have a steam trap to provide some resistance, allowing more heat transfer to occur inside the mud drum. (Trap assemblies seem to be indicated on 302‐560).
Traps are required per detail 6/M‐404|M‐404.
60 Why does drawing note 2 indicate demolishing the control valve ahead of the muffler?
Won’t this valve be required to perform testing and PM’s?
With regard to drawing 302‐547, 302‐548, and 302‐560, the existing pneumatic control valve is demolished, and a globe valve [HPS|028] is provided at the catwalk level.
61 Please confirm a second round of RFI’s will be allowed to 4/27/22 to capture any additional scope items that may emerge.
The RFI due date will not be extended.
