SPECIFICATIONS
Bridgman Crystal Growth System
I. BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The National Institute of Standards and Technology’s (NIST) Materials Science and Engineering Division (MSED) is expanding facilities for fabrication of novel electronic materials to be provided to NIST Standards and Metrology Programs and other external collaborators from academia and industry. As part of the mission, MSED is developing growth of two-dimensional crystals from melts via Bridgman and direct solidification methods.
II. SCOPE OF WORK
The contractor shall provide a Bridgman Crystal Growth System.
III. SPECIFICATIONS
The Bridgman Crystal Growth system shall meet the following minimum technical specifications:
Furnace

· Separate controller for each zone. At least eight programmable segments for heating/cooling rates and dwell times
· Built-in overheating and thermocouple failure protection

| 110V or 208V, Single Phase, 60 Hz |
Translation Mechanism
| Translation speed |
| Minimum: 0.5 mm/h or less |
Maximum: 10-30 cm/min
| Programmable motion control: |
| Capability of creating a user-defined motion profile to control distance, direction and velocity of sample’s movement |

IV. WARRANTY
The Contractor shall provide, at a minimum, a one-year warranty, which includes all parts, labor, and travel costs. The warranty shall commence upon Government acceptance of the system.
V. DELIVERY DATE
Delivery of the technical design drawings shall be delivered within 60 days after award. Once drawings are approved by the Technical Point of Contact (TPOC), the Bridgman Crystal Growth System shall be delivered within 125 days.

VIII. ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA
The TPOC will perform acceptance test to verify operation of the system meets manufacturers specifications. Allow 10 calendar days for testing and acceptance.
