Questions and Answers 1333MF23QNFFN0034 Research Vessel Charter St. Thomas and St.
John, USVI
1. Q: We will need locations to estimate fuel costs.
A: The dock should be centrally located on the southern coast of St. Thomas, USVI, within 8 miles of downtown Charlotte Amalie. A marina closer to the eastern end of St. Thomas is preferred since that is a central location to depart from to reach study sites located around both St. Thomas and St. John.
Red Hook Marina will be a required stop at the end of each day to allow for the exchange of scuba tanks at the Dive shop. Estimated to be at the Red Hook Marina between 3:30-4:00 in the afternoon to make sure that the government has adequate time to get tanks exchanged, plus get the charter vessels back to the home Marina before 5:00.
2. Q: What time does the 8-hour day begin?
A: The daily plan is to meet the charter vessels every morning at 8:00 where they are docked and return before 5:00 pm.
