RE: ADDENDUM 2

Surveying Services

Notice to All Bidders:

Please note the following responses to the questions received:

Question 1 How much notice is typically provided or expected for on-call surveying jobs?

Answer 1 This will vary. For as-builts for new public stormwater outlots, notice will be at least 10 days. There are approximately 0-5 new outlots built per year.

Question 2 Are we required to augment drone data collection with traditional survey methods?

Answer 2 “Drones may only be used for general land topographic DTM modeling. The Digital terrain data shall be collected in the field and modeled so that any test point elevation would be within 1/3 of the contour interval over 90% of the DTM area. For paved areas, the test point elevation shall be within 1/5 of the contour interval. A minimum of 10 test points shall be made for any project. There shall not be less than one test point for every one-quarter area of area within a project.

This does not apply to Section 5.3 Greenway Drone Project, where drone data shall be the only survey method.

Question 3 Do we have the discretion to choose whether or not to use drones on the six identified projects?

Answer 3 Yes, noting requirements above that they may only be used for specific DTM modeling, and not for getting other features.

Question 4 Can drones be used for topographic and general DTI surveys?

Answer 4 Drones can only be used for general land topographic information and shall require a minimum of 10 test elevation points verified through a traditional method.

Question 5 Section 5.3 references three projects but lists five bullet points. Will three of the five projects be selected?

Answer 5 That is a typo, it should be five projects. However, the City may select to implement all, some or none of the drone projects.

Question 6 Are certified Blue UAS systems required? More specifically, is the use of DJI drones permitted?

Answer 6 All Federal bands must be complied with.

At this time, Certified Blue UAS systems are not required, and the use of DJI drones are permitted.

Bidders must acknowledge receipt of this addendum accordingly on RFP Form B, Receipt Forms and Submittal Checklist.
