About this file

This document contains questions and answers related to solicitation number 1305M2-23-Q-01261 from the Department of Commerce National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The solicitation requests the fabrication and installation of railings and fabrication of scuba tank storage cages. Questions from potential vendors ask for technical drawings of the scuba tank storage cages, whether engineer stamped drawings are required for the cages and railings, whether the cages are replacing or adding to existing ones, and if a component railing system meeting requirements would be acceptable rather than a fabricated/welded system. The answers provide the requested drawings, state no stamped drawings are needed, indicate the cages are additions to existing ones, and that a component railing system would be acceptable if it meets the statement of work, ADA, and corrosion/chemical resistance requirements.

QUESTIONS and

1. I see in the SOW that the scuba tank storage cages are 5x3, are there are any technical drawings for the scuba tank storage cases.

Please see Scuba Tank Storage Measurement Drawings

2. Will NOAA require engineer stamped drawings for the cages and railings?

No stamped drawings are required.

3. Are the cages being replaced or in addition to the existing ones? Reason being is we can manufacture something very close to the original without attempting to replicate what is there…

The cages are in addition to the existing ones.

4. The new railings are specified to be fabricated/welded construction. Will you accept a component railing system that is already ADA compliant and will meet all of the requirements and can be is used in the harshest of environments and will hold up to salt water and weather?

As long as the railings following the SOW, ADA compliant and are corrosion/chemical resistant.
