National Weather Service (NWS) – Central Region
Regional Facility Cyclic Maintenance Single Award IDIQ Contract
Base Statement of Work
1. Introduction The National Weather Service Central Region includes 38 Weather Forecast Offices (WFO) throughout the 14-state Central Region. These WFO facilities were constructed between 1989 and 1995. The NWS has established a cyclical maintenance schedule for five of the primary recurring maintenance actions.
These include facility painting, carpet replacement, parking lot maintenance, Upper Air Inflation Building (UAIB) dome coating and WFO and Storage/Gen-set Building Caulk and Lintel Painting.
NWS is seeking to award a single award indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract to a contractor to perform a comprehensive, turnkey maintenance program including these primary tasks, following the cyclical schedule.
The contract will be established based on the NWS developed scope of work for these maintenance items. Pricing will be based on a “typical” facility using unit prices. Unit pricing will allow for variation in facility size and layout.
1.1 Objectives
1. Reduce NWS manpower requirements currently dedicated to multiple individual contracting actions for these recurring maintenance actions.
2. Establish a team that can provide a consistent level of service and quality of workmanship throughout all facilities in the region.
3. Establish a contract with a contractor able to provide single point of accountability for completion of all scheduled maintenance actions.
