4.7 Install tool holder fabricated from perforated metal on flatbed next to headache rack. (see figure 10).

4.8 Purchase and install four (4) pairs of side steps on Ram 2500 2024 trucks. Steps shall be Westin Outlaw Drop Nerf Step Bars brand (or equal) (see Figure 11 for specifications and features).

Steps are for installation on GOVs A402147, A402148, A402149, and A402150.

4.9 Current pickup beds on all 4 trucks will be considered as trade-in value for this contract. Bid should reflect the amount of trade-in value that is offered as part of their bid for the project.

5. USDA NRCS Specifications for mounting Hydraulic Probe and toolbox with associated hardware and parts on the Government Pickup trucks.

5.1 The government will deliver the GOVs and probe assemblies to the contractor’s work site 14 days ARO. Temporary onsite storage of the GOVs, soil probes, and hydraulic power packs will be necessary at the contractor’s site.

5.2 Remove existing factory truck bed and tailgate from trucks. Maintain integrity of the backup camera on the trucks for reinstallation into the new flat bed. Removed factory truck bed and tailgate assembly (except the backup camera – which will remain with the truck) will be transferred in ownership to the contract awardee. These removed parts will remain with the contract awardee and will not be returned to the Natural Resources Conservation Service.

5.3 Modify existing soil probe mounting plate or fabricate new mounting plate for the hydraulic probe and install to the truck frame. Plates shall be made of a material strong enough to withstand the weight of the probe without causing damage to the plate nor the vehicle when the probe is completely installed. The mounting plate will be bolted to the truck frame (not welded). (see Figure 2). Original ground clearance of the shall be maintained for the vehicle with the horizontal position of the bottom of the mounting bracket no lower than the bottom of the truck frame.

5.4 Modify/remove areas on the new pickup flatbed by cutting the inside bottom of the bed and the side of the truck bed for hydraulic probe access. Upon completion of this modification, the contractor will ‘box in’ and seal the cut section of the truck bed on both the inside and outside of the truck bed. (see Figure 2). The fabricated modifications steel and welds shall be painted black.

5.5 Install new flatbed to the new trucks per manufacturer specifications. Reinstall factory provided backup camera to the rear of the truck ensuring proper camera orientation and operation. Attach wiring for taillights, backup lights, turn signals, and trailer connections as needed for the new flatbed assembly.

5.6 Install new 72” L x 20” W x 24” H locking toolbox on the passenger side of the truck flatbed to manufacturer specifications. (see Figures 8a for specifications and 8b for an example)

5.7 Install new 18x18x36 Inch Black Steel Truck Box with lockable door on the drivers’ side of the new flatbed near the soil probe assembly. (see Figure 7)
