ATTACHMENT 1 – DESCRIPTION OF WORK

MYERS WRE

Richland County, South Carolina

The work to be performed under this contract includes the following items:

Site 1 Furnish 40 tons of riprap to be installed by others. The rock can be piled to each side of the culvert.

Sites 2-8 Construct low water crossings to the grades and dimensions as shown on the drawings. Clean all existing rock or slag off the surface of the crossing and stockpile near the spoil disposal area until later. Excavate the crossing.

(Dispose of all spoil material at the location shown on the map. Spoil will be spread onto the road and packed in 6” lifts by a smooth drum roller. After all spoil placement is complete, the stockpiled rock/slag material shall be spread onto the area and packed with the roller. No geotextile placement is needed here.) Areas for riprap placement will have to be undercut so that the top of the rock is at the stream bottom elevation. Install geotextile on all areas to be covered by rock. Secure in trenches or by stapling or staking to prevent movement during rock placement. Furnish and install riprap and CR-14 (crusher run) as shown on the drawings. Riprap will be topped with 2-3 inches of CR-14. Compact crusher run with a smooth drum roller (not on riprap areas). Seed, fertilize and mulch all disturbed areas not covered with rock. A 4’ wide section of excelsior erosion control blanket shall be installed down each side of each ramp. All other areas will be mulched with wheat straw.
