Power Outages During Performance Of The Work

It is important to minimize power outage periods during the performance of the work.

Normal operation is to run these generators alternatively on two-week intervals, with basic servicing of one while the other is in operation. This is to be the general operation during removal and replacement of the generators (as well as for the building repairs), such that removal and replacement of one generator is underway while the other is fully operating and powering the site. The Contractor’s technicians and electricians involved with the work shall be thoroughly familiar with prime power generator operations. Procedures for powering up/powering down are in the generator building. The government will not allow prolonged power outages, however from time to time it may be necessary to accomplish the work. In which case, a total of four 8-hour outages will be allowed, separated by no less than 72 hours each, with advance notice of 72 hours to the Government (the COR) and Siskiyou Telephone Co. for each occurrence.

Points of Contact for Outages:

USFS: Kelly Nolan, Facilities Engineer, (530) 841-4431 USFS: Ken Kellogg, Forest Engineer, (530) 841-4536

Siskiyou Telephone Co.: Dan Rimmer, (530) 467-6145

Special Conditions Affecting Work

Contractor shall be responsible for preventing fuel spills on soil during the course of the work and promptly cleaning up any spills in the generator building.

Time For Completion

The project must be complete and ready for acceptance by September 30, 2019. This includes start up and testing and final clean-up of the premises. Factory follow-up inspection to occur 30 days from final acceptance.

Utilities

Contractor shall provide all temporary power, as necessary, for construction of this work. Power, when generators are operating, and water are on site for use by the Contractor. Temporary restrooms for construction workers shall be provided by the Contractor as needed. Contractor shall be responsible for locating and protecting above and below ground utilities in the project areas.

Contractor Use of Premises

• Construction yards and/or storage areas are the responsibility of the Contractor.

• Confine operations at site to areas agreed by the Contracting Officer.

• Do not encumber site with materials or equipment.

• Do not load structure or roadway with weight that will endanger or render unusable any structures or roadways.

• Assume full responsibility for protection and safekeeping of products stored on premises.

• Move any stored products which interfere with operations of Owner.

• Return all surface areas to their original condition upon completion of the work.
