Plot Combine Quesons and Answers

Q1. What is the plot length for your trials? This will determine what size the back collecon bin will need to be for straw collecon.

A1. 1. The plots will range from around 10’ to 50’ and typically include stress trials (e.g., ferlizer, irrigaon) and thus, can have from very low to very high grain and straw yields.

Q2. Are you going to be using the (hydraulic or conveyor) system to dump the straw on the ground aer weighing the collecon in the read of the combine?

A2. 2. The straw system must allow the straw to be 1st weighed and subsampled and then the equipment must allow both 1) collecon of “all” straw (e.g., in a bag from a hydraulic dump) or 2) leave w/n field by dumping or other means. We have studies that require both opons w/n a single study.

Q3. We are roughly 11’3” Tall, 8’6” Wide, and 24’ Long – is this going to be okay on measurements?

A3. This would not meet the requirements for this locaon. As noted in the solicitaon, equipment height needs to be less than 10.5’ and total width less than 6’ where ALL headers are ~5’ wide.
