Questions/Responses
Below are questions submitted with the Governments response.
1. Can electrical as-built drawings be furnished for the facility?
1. I don’t have an electronic version, I have a disc that could be loaned out but would have to be returned.
1. Should item #4 in SOW be combined with Item #5 with power being pulled from same building as item #5. This would be more cost effective.
1. The power supplying areas are located in separate buildings (#4 HazMat is supplied from Building 500, and #6 GOV parking is supplied from Building 600).
1. Will three (3) 4’ light strips be adequate to illuminate the hazmat container area?
1. Yes, I believe so, it is just lighting the walkway.
1. Based on site visit it seems it would be more cost effective and provide better illumination if canopy lights were installed on exterior canopy on the canopy between building 100 north and building 100 south in lieu of what is stated on statement on work. Please advise
1. Using the information from several interested contractors for this project the lighting for the 100N and 100S Lobby area lights will work as written in the Scope.
1. Can concrete slab be removed and replaced and electrical feed pulled from existing UG walkway lighting in lieu of pulling from nearest panel where applicable?
1. Yes, if you want to remove and replace the concrete to access the existing underground fixture that is an option. I believe there are other avenues that would be more cost efficient.
1. Will any of this work need to happen at night or during off hours to accommodate the facility staff or other needs?
1. No after-hours work involved (working hours are as mentioned in the Scope – 7:00a – 3:00p). If necessary, the times can be adjusted to 6:00a to 4:00p due to the hot season coming up.
1. Will any conduit that is to be surface mounted or exposed have to be painted to match finishes in the area?
1. Yes, as closes as possible, there shouldn’t be much exposed conduit.
