Question- The 2” flooring required in the specification can be accomplished, but in doing so it is recommended that the crossmembers be lowered to accommodate the extra flooring thickness. This will increase cost and impact the production schedule due to the additional engineering effort involved. Would the government accept the flooring thickness at the recommended 1 ½ inch to avoid this cost and schedule impact?
Response- The document reflected nominal size and should read as the dimensional size.
Fix- Amendment 2 was accomplished to remove the color requirement (black) and the thickness requirement to read as the dimensional size 1.5” not the nominal size of 2”.
Question- What type of documents will be required to be delivered with the trailer?
Response- Electronic format of manufacture or equivalent materials to properly operate or maintain the trailer.
Fix- Amendment 4 shall read “Trailers shall meet all DOT regulations and OSHA safety requirements and have the proper safety equipment installed (i.e. safety Chains, electric brakes, etc.) see specifications above. Manufacturer’s Literature: Operations, Parts, and Repair Manuals are required. One copy of all necessary manuals to properly operate and maintain is required to be sent to USFS representative, electronic will be accepted.”
