Question and Answer – Sheet 2

1. Will there be any limitations on when they can work on the pad (Late evening or weekend)?

Answer: Any Excavating Equipment, cranes, drill rigs or other tall equipment must have an orange and white checker flag that is flown and if they are operating after dusk they need to have a red beacon on the highest portion of the boom. You can reference FAA advisory circular AC 150/5370-2G Operational Safety on Airports During Construction. These are the standards that we will hold the contractor to. Some of this AC does not apply due to the location of this project. The contractor will be required to file a 7460-1 with the FAA this may take 45days to get the results back and the Notice to proceed. As far as the airport is concerned once you have a contractor selected we would like to have a preconstruction meeting and set some ground rules of the areas they can access and the does and don’ts of the airport. I will have my staff put them through the driver training program as well. They may be limited on what evenings or nights they can work depending on the commercial service hours of operation and if we have a commercial flight that stays overnight as our approved Security Plan changes depending on our commercial flight.
