CEDAR CITY HELIPAD QUESTION AND ANSWER

• Will there be extra material needed to fill in around the helipad?

o No. The confusion came because the TLOF elevation leader on sheet 3 of the plans was pointing to the wrong spot. The plans have been updated.

• Can you update the schedule of items with quantities?

o The current schedule of items states that one square yard will be required for asphalt paving. The correct number required for asphalt paving is 930 square yards. See updated solicitation on FBO.

• Is there a part number for the mooring points?

o Model P3490-A Aircraft Tie Down manufactured by Pacific Marine and Industrial.

• Do you have a part number for the static ground rod?

o No, the rod simply needs to be at least ¾” diameter and may be copper, copper-clad steel, galvanized steel, or Copper-Zinc-Silicone Alloy. This type of rod should be readily available from many different suppliers. See sheet 6 of the drawings.

• What kind of paint is required for the markings on the Heli-pad?

o The required paint is stated in the specifications in Section 322640 – Pavement

Marking, Part 2 - Products, 2.1 – Materials, A,B and C.

• Are there any work hour restrictions?

o No

• Where can the equipment be left?

o The Equipment can be left at a location designated by the CO near the fuel farm which is about 300 feet north of the job location.

• Where can water be obtained?

o Water can be obtained at the fire center truck filling station at 1770 West

Kittyhawk Dr., which is a few blocks from the project.

• Has the city council approved the project?

o Yes

• Has the FAA approved the project?

o No, but we expect to get final approval soon. At this time, we don’t foresee any delays based on FAA approval. If the FAA imposed changes, the contract would be modified to reflect those changes.

• When do we expect the contractor to start?

o The contractor may not start till after July 21st due to conflict with fire suppression air craft in its high season.
