Mobilization shall be paid one time per job. Mobilization will not be paid for the return trip to the base of operations, or for re-mobilization to the same project (e.g. equipment taken back to the base of operations for the weekend), unless agreed to in advance by the Contracting Officer.
Mobilization covers the movement of personnel, equipment, supplies, and incidentals to the project area.
Requirements and provisions shall follow FP-14 Section 151 and applicable Forest Service Supplemental Specifications (FSSS).

15219 Establish Clearing Limits Consists of measurement of the required vegetation clearing distance from the edge of the roadway and marking the distance by hanging flags that delineate the area to be cleared. Clearing Limits may vary depending on road location factors such as ground slope, road width and presence of ditches. See drawing “Field Guide for 212 Staking”.
15702 Soil Erosion and Sediment Control Assume base bid is for linear feet of silt fence. Soil Erosion Control structures shall be installed according to FP-14 Section 157 and the drawings.
15802 Watering for Dust Control Includes supplying a water truck and driver/operator for dust control and/or use for dust palliative operations. Assume that a water source within 10 miles of each Task Order location will be available to Contractor for drafting water (no royalty fee). Base bid unit price is for 1 day of truck and operator.
Assume 2,000 gallon truck for base bid.
20302 Removal of Existing Culverts, Disposal Method A Includes the excavation, removal and legal disposal of culverts designated for removal. Assume 18” x 40’ CMP with 4’ of cover on inlet side for base bid. Dispose of culverts in accordance with FP-14 Section 203.05(a). Reinstallation of new culverts shall be paid for under Pay Item 60201.
20403 Roadway Excavation and Embankment, Compaction Placement Method 3 Includes excavation, placement, and compaction of common rippable earthen materials for roadway construction. Compact excavation and embankment material in accordance with FSSS Section 204.11(c).
Assume cut and fill quantities will balance for base bid. Assume a haul distance not to exceed 1 mile from the work location. Distances exceeding this will be negotiated separately.
20425C Drainage Excavation, Type Rolling Dip - Construct Includes construction of rolling dips as shown on the drawings. Assume 12’ wide road with side slope of 20% for base bid.
20425R Drainage Excavation, Type Rolling Dip - Reconstruct Includes reconstruction of existing rolling dips, cleaning of outlet ditch, removal of material from the bottom of the dip and re-shaping as necessary to drain water from the road as shown on the drawings.
Assume 12’ wide road with side slope of 20% for base bid.
21101 Roadway Obliteration, Method 1 Includes roadway obliteration in accordance with FSSS Section 211.01(a). Culvert removal shall be paid for under Pay Item 20302. Assume 12’ wide road with side slope of 40% for base bid.
21102 Roadway Obliteration, Method 2 Includes roadway obliteration in accordance with FSSS Section 211.01(b). Culvert removal shall be paid for under Pay Item 20302. Assume 12’ wide road with side slope of 40% for base bid.
21201 Linear Grading Includes reconstruction of existing roads: tree clearing, installation of new ditches, curve widening, minor re-alignments of the road, and re-finishing the road surface. Rolling dips shall be paid for separately.
Assume 12’ wide road with side slope of 20%, and an inside ditch for base bid. For base bid, assume 5-7 hours per mile for tree clearing with an excavator, 2 chain saws, and a pick-up truck (w/ operators).
23050 Roadside Brushing Includes cutting and removal of trees and brush within the clearing limits of the road 4 feet from the edge of the road. See Roadside Brushing Limits Drawing and FSSS Section 230. Assume base bid is for a mechanical masticator.
