Addendum – as of 06/20/2019 Questions & Answers

Q. Could you explain what is necessary for reclassification of the water system results?

A. Yes, if reclassification of the water systems results in the classification changing to a public water system, any changes to the scope of work will be addressed by contract modification, if necessary.

Q: Have the systems been started up this year or does that still need to be done?

A: Yes, all systems have been started up for this year.

Q: What kind of sampling/testing plan is there since these systems are not on the CDPHE web site?

A: It is the intent of the Forest Service to treat these systems as if they are public water systems using the same classification as many of our campgrounds, TNC. The Contractor will be required to verify the classification but if confirmed as non-public, testing will be completed as if it is a public system. Therefore start-up sampling, annual nitrate, monthly TC and weekly chlorine residual will be required.

Q: Are the approximate system operational seasons listed typical from year to year?

A: Yes.

Q. How are the systems drained for the end of season shut-down?

A.

- Stub Creek is a combination of daylight drains and pressurized air.

- Red Feather is also a combination of daylight drains and pressurized air.

- Arrowhead is drained via standpipe drains that need to be pumped out. The pump for this operation is on site and may be used for this purpose.

Q. Could you clarify what samples need to be conducted if the systems that do not have a PWSID number, therefore, do not have a water schedule? Will weekly chlorine testing be required? Will a collection monthly of TCR, Nitrate, Nitrite, etc be required?

A. It is the intent of the Forest Service to treat these systems as if they are public water systems using the same classification as many of our campgrounds, TNC. The Contractor will be required to verify the classification but if confirmed as non-public, testing will be completed as if it is a public system. Therefore start-up sampling, annual nitrate, monthly TC and weekly chlorine residual will be required.

Q. Will the awarded contractor incur the cost of compliance sampling and invoice for the testing, OR would the Forest Service rather have the lab invoice directly?

A. This will be the awarded contractor’s responsibility to pay for compliance testing.

Q. Could you further clarify the locations for the required ‘Scope of Work’.

A.
