1. Can maps in a KMZ files format be attached for geo referencing?
Attached is a kmz file with the proposed treatment areas. The Government anticipates treating up to 200 acres (combined total of wood chips and soil amendments).
2. Is it possible to get additional details on the requirements for the mulch? Items such as size of chips, required depth of application, weather limitations.
Additional information included in the PWS.
3. Is the Government acceptable to alternative staging areas?
Yes. Contractor must provide the alternative staging area location for consideration by the Government.
4. What is the rate of application of wood chips that will be specified in the contract.
See PWS edit
5. What is the application rate of soil amendments?
See PWS edit
6. What is the recommended source for soil amendments – Triton Environmental
7. Where and what type of wood chips are needed.
See PWS edit- At least 70% of the total wood shred volume will have stubble lengths of 4-8 inches typical, have less than 1” diameter and have minimal fines”
8. Can contractors bring logs and grinding them at the staging area.
Yes, for staging locations recommended by the Government. For alternative proposed staging locations it is the responsibility of the contractor to coordinate this.
9. What is the acreages of treatment areas. I stated looking to Approximately 100 acres with wood chips and 100 acres with soil amendments.
10. How will the Government anticipate handling weather delays, if any?
Since this treatment is weather dependent, delays due to weather could arise. The Government intends to award a contract for services to commence approximately 10/1/2023-10/14/2023 before local hunting season commences. Should delays occur for award this time period, the Government could consider modifying the delivery schedule to August 2024, approximately 8/15/2024-8/30/2024.
In the event it is in the Governments best interest, based on offers, to award initially for an August 2024 schedule (approximately 8/15-8/30) should weather become an issue, the Government could consider modifying the delivery schedule to October 2024 prior to hunting season.
The Government could also consider awarding for October 2023 timeframe then modifying to ultimately receive services in October 2024, should weather and/or timing require.
