Attachment 1 - Salient Characteristics
Gravity Separator with Full Size Deck Cover
Specification:
Westrup LA-K Laboratory Gravity Separator – 110 Volt, 60HZ/1PH (Brand Name or Equal)
Function:
The US Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Service (ARS) has a requirement for a laboratory gravity separator to separate granular products such as grains, cereals, oil seeds, industrial based byproducts. The gravity separator is needed to exploit the smallest differences in the specific weight of products to separate them into various fractions.
The gravity separator with deck cover is for laboratory use for batch and continuous flow separation of small volumes of seed or grain, or other biobased materials. Therefore, it should be easy to construct and to mount on a convenient worktable. Also, it should be easy to clean-down when changing from one product to another with low maintenance.
Salient Characteristics:
• Processing capacity (throughput) of two or more liters of seed or grain.
• Continuous separation capacity based on wheat with maximum moisture content of 14%, the separator should process up to 100 kg/h.
• Inlet hopper and vibratory feeder with speed control.
• Heavy duty steel frame for long-life and durability.
• Manually adjustable deck stroke length, deck speed, air volume, and deck inclination lengthwise and crosswise.
• Inlet of the deck should be equipped with stratification pins allowing the products to segregate at an accelerated rate to separate the heavy and fines.
• Oscillating triangular gradating deck with air distribution plate and standard covering.
• Equipped with separate rock trap.
• Eccentric shaft with digital readout
• Equipped with adjustable flaps to vary the retention time of the products.
• Outlet section with manually adjustable guide plates.
• Five collecting drawers
• Deck size 1600 cm2
• Integrated fan system provided to the gravity separator.
• Adjustable deck with slide or end tilt inclination
• The deck should have aluminum frame for quick removal and washing after equipment.
• Power 110 VOLT, 60Hz/1PH
