About this file
This document contains an amendment with questions and answers regarding a federal solicitation for autoclave temperature mapping, cycle development, and validation services. The solicitation seeks these services for autoclaves located at the USDA Agricultural Research Service Plains Area National Bio-Agro Defense Facility in Manhattan, Kansas. The amendment clarifies that empty chamber temperature mapping requires one run only unless significant deviations are observed, provides the correct serial numbers for two contract line items, and notes that two autoclaves referenced will only require temperature mapping without designated waste processing or separate cycle validation. Responses to the solicitation are due by May 9, 2023 and will be evaluated based on technical acceptance, past performance, and price. The award will be a firm-fixed-price purchase order under solicitation number 12805B23Q344 issued by the USDA Agricultural Research Service Field Research Implementation and Information Delivery Plains Area.

Amendment 0002 Q&A
1. For the empty chamber test per sterilizer, do they want 1 run or 3?
Answer: If you mean the empty chamber test to be the temperature mapping portion, these require just one run unless there is a significant deviation between temperatures that requires maintenance on the unit.
2. In their SOW, CLIN 4 and 27 have the same SN number. I think I figured out the correct SN for both but they should confirm it.
Answer: CLIN4 : Serial Number 0011126504-070-01; CLIN27: Serial Number 0011126507- 020-01. The serial number for CLIN4 is incorrect in the original PWS and needs to be updated with this number.
3. CLIN9 and CLIN27 have no profiles described in either.
Answer: This is correct. CLIN9 and CLIN27 are only temperature mapping exercises. These autoclaves are not designated waste. Cycle validation for these units will be performed separately.
