Attachment 001 Cornstalk Bales Specifications Clarified 09JAN23
1. Introduction: Scientists at the Roman L. Hruska U.S. Meat Animal Research Center (USMARC) are developing scientific information and new technology to solve high priority problems for the
U.S. beef, sheep, and swine industries. About 50 percent of the effort is with beef cattle, 30 percent with swine, and 20 percent with sheep. Cornstalk bales are used to feed for these animals.
2. Scope: The Contractor shall provide the Cornstalk bales in the description and quantity listed.
3. Technical Requirements: 680 tons of cornstalk bales. Specifications: Round or Square bales of cornstalks. Cornstalk bales should be of the 2022 crop year and should not be foul smelling or moldy. Cornstalk bales that do not meet these specifications will be rejected. Cornstalk bales must be delivered to USDA/ARS/USMARC; Clay Center, NE and USMARC personnel will unload the hay bales. Truck drivers will need to coordinate with USMARC personnel on delivery times and schedules but normal hours of 7:00am -3:30pm Monday-Friday are anticipated. A scale ticket showing gross, tare, and net weight is required on every load delivered. A State of Nebraska certified scale is located on USMARC facilities and can be used for obtaining weights. Delivery is anticipated to start upon contract award and must be completed in full by 3/1/2023.

6. Government Furnished:
1) Access to the facility during normal business operations (Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4 pm)
2) Location for delivery.
7. Performance Requirement Measures:
Cornstalk bales in the specifications and quantities required within the listed period of performance.
8. Pricing and Invoicing. Invoicing will be consolidated to one invoice per month.
