Text version

1. The scope of work states “Remove buildings, including concrete foundations, sidewalks, etc.

including removing entire length of support poles buried in ground on pole barn”. Which pole barn is this question referring to and is this part of this project?

A. Strike “including removing entire length of support poles buried in ground on pole barn” from SOW. No pole barn demo in scope of this project.

2. It appears there is an underground cistern tank next to the building (concrete lid is exposed). Does this get demolished? If so, is the tank empty? What material was stored in the tank? What size is the tank? What material is the tank made from? Is the tank to be demolished and hauled offsite or is the USDA keeping the tank?

A. Cistern was septic tank. Tank and lid are to be removed and hauled offsite and properly disposed of. Tank is made from concrete with 1ft or less wall thickness. Contractor to assume tank is less than 10 feet diameter and less than 10 feet deep. Contractor to assume tank is empty. If contractor finds otherwise during demolition, notify CO for further instructions.

3. Are there any compaction testing requirements for final grading (I.E. 95% compaction required)?

A. No.

4. Is there any type of basement or crawl space under the building? If so, what is the depth and dimensions?
