SECTION III – STATEMENT OF WORK

Background: The Siskiyou County Airtanker Base is staffed on an as Call When Needed basis and equipped with government owned retardant and water tanks, pump, retardant mix system plumbing, and manifold. A recent inspection focused on the tanker base’s retardant lot acceptance / quality assurance (LA/QA) issues (i.e. solid and coagulated formations in liquid concentrate storage tanks).

Two (2) 10,000 gallon tanks, used for liquid concentrate storage are plumbed with valves at each end to accommodate recirculation and/or mixing. A recirculation system has not been installed at Siskiyou County ATB.

Siskiyou County ATB retardant recirculation and mixing is accomplished by one variable speed pump set at 200 GPM. Retardant mixing operations require the introduction of water into the pump housing.

If the mix pump is used for recirculation, water is introduced into stored concentrate, creates contamination and activates formula gum(coagulation).

There is currently approxinately 10,000 gallons of retardant distrubted between the two tanks retardant (3000 Gal South Tank, 7,000 Gal North Tank) An SDS for the retardant stored in the tanks is included as an attachment to this SOW.

Scope Of Work To Be Performed: The work to be performed under this contract includes pumping the retardant tanks located at the Siskiyou County Air Tanker Base, disposing of the retardant, cleaning the tanks, inspecting the tanks for needed repairs. (Note: Needed repairs that are identifed during the inspection will be performed under a different contract. No repairs will be performed under this SOW.) If the tanks are in need of repair, provide documentation of areas in need of repair. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, transportation, permits, testing and incidentals necessary for the performance of the tasks specified in this Statement of Work.

Therefore, in the event that subsequent legislation or regulations conflict with prescribed procedures contained in this contract, said changes shall take precedence. Where changes to law, regulation or requirement necessitate a change to the contract, the parties agree to negotiate an equitable adjustment for it upon written notice from the Contractor.
