Question an Answer Sheet

127EAY22R0001

Manual Fuels Reduction and Related Services IDIQ 4/29/2022 Q1 - Will a contractor submitting a proposal who does not meet the 3 and 5-person burn module requirement (and not bidding on resultant task orders), while meeting all other aspects of the solicitation requirements be considered for award?

A1 - You must quote on one of the task orders in order to be eligible for award.

Q2 - What type of heavy equipment are we allowed to use on site other hand tools?

A2 - Generally hand equipment such as chain saws, pole saws, weed eaters. The only heavy equipment included in the scope of work is chipping, which is left open so would potentially cover both tow behind chipper and tracked chipper. As for hauling, generally no, but there may be places where we ask slash or natural fuels to be dragged/carried to an area where chipping can be accomplished. There is nothing in the SOW that would require hauling/skidding/forwarding using heavy equipment or trucks.

Q3 - Will the contractors be hauling out any of the tree debris?

A3 - There has been some desire from field units for contracts that include fuel reduction with equipment type more flexible between hand/heavy equipment, but the way the current IDIQ’s are set up the hand work and heavy equipment work are separated. I believe we could build such an IDIQ in the future if the need is there in the field but this one was not built that at way.

Q4 - When we list our price for this solicitation, which documents do we submit our price on?

A4 - Pricing will be provided on the seed task order projects attached to the solicitation.

Q5 - When we submit our price for this solicitation, is each unit price for 1 year or for the whole 5 year contract?

A5 - There is no set pricing for the IDIQ, pricing will need to be submitted on each individual task order projects and pricing needs to be submitted for at least one the seed task orders attached to this solicitation in order to be eligible for award.
