About this file
This document contains official responses to requests for information regarding solicitation number 127EAW24R0005 for the Ruth Guard Station Barracks Bathroom Renovation project. The responses clarify requirements for the project such as providing one ADA compliant toilet stall and one standard stall, using M-1 Advanced Mildewcide or an approved equivalent for mildew treatment, and confirming that solid stone resin, ceramic, or acrylic are appropriate materials for the custom shower pan given the irregular dimensions of the shower room. It is also noted that an asbestos/hazardous materials survey was conducted and lead was found, requiring contractors to have the appropriate training under California Code to complete the project.

127EAW24R0005 - RUTH GUARD STATION - BARRACKS BATHROOM
RENOVATION - AMENDMENT A00002
Telephone requests for information will not be accepted or returned.
RFIs 1 through 4 were posted with Amendment A00001 on 2/27/2024 to Contract Opportunities (SAM.gov).
RFI #5: Attachment 1. Statement Of Work references checking the electrical to determine whether it is up to code. Attachment 2. Schedule does not have a line-item area to put the electrical code checking price? How do you suggest we proceed?
Response: There are no electrical line items. Where electrical is found not up to code, during renovation, the contractor is responsible for bringing it up to code. Any electrical issues not currently visible during the solicitation period will constitute a change and subsequent modification.
RFI #6: Attachment 1. Statement Of Work references 3 toilet stalls - namely, one standard stall and two ADA-compliant stalls. There are only 2 toilets in question for this project. Please let us know whether you want 1 standard stall and 1 ADA-compliant stalls or 2 ADA-compliant stalls for the toilet stall?
Response: The contractor shall provide 1 ADA compliant stall and 1 standard stall.
RFI #7: Attachment 1. Statement Of Work references an approved mildewcide. Please advise on what is an approved mildewcide or please provide a list of appropriate mildewcides?
Response: The contractor shall use M-1 Advanced Mildewcide or an approved equivalent.
RFI #8: Attachment 1. Statement Of Work references a custom shower pan of approved material.
Please advise on this custom shower pan and details about the approved material.
Response: Solid stone resin, ceramic, or acrylic are appropriate materials for the shower pan. Custom means that the dimensions of the shower room may be irregular. A custom-made shower pan (for size) may be needed.
RFI #9: Has an asbestos/hazardous materials survey been conducted?
Response: Yes, an asbestos/hazardous materials survey has been conducted and lead was found. The contractor shall have the appropriate training under California Code to complete the project. A revised Statement of Work (SOW) is posted to clarify this change.
