RFI #11 – Could pictures or dimensions of work areas be shared?

USFS Response – Floor plan with dimensions are attached in work statement.

RFI #12 – What color and sheen are the existing walls and doors. Have the doors and door jams been previously painted, are they metal or wood?

USFS Response – Please see work statement for sheens required, yes, all surfaces to be painted are currently painted.

RFI #13 – How many doors are there that need painting?

USFS Response – Please see floor plan for doors to be painted.

RFI #14 – In the SOW it lists the colors and sheens to be used. Typically, door jambs and doors are painted in the same color and sheen in most applications. They collectively provide an accent to the wall color. Introducing another color will increase labor cost. Please advise, in an effort to keep labor cost low can the door jambs be painted the same color and sheen as the accompanying doors.

USFS Response – No - follow work statement for doors and frames color and sheens.

RFI #15 – Where specified that project needs completed in 5 workdays are we limited on how many hours we can work in a day? In the SOW it says work hours are between 8:00 a.m- 4:00 p.m. Can we arrive earlier and stay as late as needed (given the tight time restraints this would be an absolute necessity). And could we work outside of the 5 allotted days into the weekend?

USFS Response - Work hours must be as noted in work statement.

RFI #16 - Is this project going to be done while the facility is operational?

USFS Response – Statement of Work states the office area will be vacated while painting takes place.

USFS Response – No bonds are required for this requirement.

RFI #19 - Are there any skilled & trained workforce requirements?

USFS Response – Comply with all applicable codes regarding health, safety, and welfare of all project users.

RFI #20 - Do we have to be certified as a small, minority, woman, or veteran-owned business?

USFS Response – Must have an active SAM profile that shows company is a small business.

RFI #21 – Is there any drywall work required?

USFS Response – Minor patching possible. Any nails need to be taken off and holes patched.

RFI #22 – Will there be storage area/parking?

USFS Response – Yes, storing area will be available and parking will be in the employee parking lot.

RFI #23 - Question about HVAC and spray painting.

USFS Response - Prior to painting beginning, we will turn off the VAV units eliminating most air movement in the spaces. Contractors are to cover and protect return air perforated grilles so that no paint gets in to return air plenum. “Return Air Grille” picture below.
