About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for solicitation 127EAS25Q0010 regarding snow removal services for the USDA Forest Service's High Sierra Ranger District. The contract includes a base period (02/01/2025 - 01/31/2026) and two option years, with services needed approximately five months per year from December through May, or as long as snow remains on the ground.

Key details include: no minimum guaranteed hours; equipment operators must text the COR and program manager with equipment type and start/stop times; estimated hours per season are 80, 95, and 30 (total 205) but these are neither minimum nor maximum amounts; Caltrans is only responsible for Highway 168 and local HOAs have no snow removal responsibilities in the contract area; and the USFS chose hourly pricing rather than an annual accumulated snowfall contract due to funding source restrictions. The work area includes Huntington Lake County Road (from Huntington Snopark to Highway 168), Huntington Lake Snopark, and the Kokanee Work Center.
