About this file
This document is a Question and Answer (Q&A) related to a federal contract opportunity for the Inyo National Forest 2024 Hay Order. The key details are:
The solicitation is for 50 tons (100,000 lbs.) of 3-string rectangular bales of grass/alfalfa hay (80% grass, 20% alfalfa). The hay must be well-cured, free of dust, mold, foreign material, and certain undesirable grasses. Bale size should not exceed 3-string rectangular bales, and round bales are not permitted. The hay will need to be inspected by the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) at the hay ranch prior to loading. The vendor is required to provide a hay squeeze to unload and move the hay, as there are no hay squeezes available for rent in the area. The vendor must place the hay inside a covered hay barn, which will require double-stacking the bales off the truck to fit all 50 tons.
