About this file

This document is an amendment to a solicitation for installation of high-game and pasture fencing in Cameron County, Texas. The United States Department of Agriculture Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service Marketing and Regulatory Programs Business Services is seeking to have at least 48 inches of concrete installed on all vertical metal pipes, with any pipes not made of galvanized steel to be primed with a galvanized rust inhibitor and capped to reduce corrosion. Work will not take place on the Jenkins tract from October 1, 2022 through January 31, 2023 due to hunting season. Treated wooden fence posts must be at least 5 inches in diameter. Single strands of barbed wire are to be installed across the top of new fencing 3 inches from the top high tensile wire, with no barbed wire permitted at the bottom. Materials may be stored at the Cameron County yard located at 8000 Military Highway in Brownsville, Texas, where equipment access is available. The north Jenkins fence has an easement allowing access for construction. Fence lines will follow surveyed markers, which may require crossing drainage ditches or canals.
