Q’s and A’s w/photos, Kit Greenhouse Replacement, 12639519Q0229
1. What power source is available for use by our crew and what will be available to power the systems in the new greenhouse. Please provide both voltage and amperage. IE the existing feed is a 240V 100Amp feed form a panel located 150’ from the greenhouse. 100 amp sub panel in the existing greenhouse can be re-used.
1. SOW indicates we are to remove and dispose of existing “lighting fixtures, gas heating units, fans, and wood sill plate”. Are the existing “gas heaters” fed from a permanent natural gas line to the greenhouse and if so please provide size, or is this a propane system with a storage tank that will also have to be removed. Please provide nameplate information for existing heater so the new system can be properly sized. The existing gas heater is NATURAL GAS. (Attached is the data plate from it). It is fed with a ½” line from the meter outside, and adjacent to the greenhouse.
1. Please provide requirements for new lighting system. Do the new lights need to be grow-lights with any timed controls or are these lights strictly for staff use while in the space? If so what are the required lumens for the space. Information for existing lights would be helpful if these were sufficient for the existing greenhouse. Currently that greenhouse uses fluorescent strip lights. (See attached photo). The contractor can install this same type light fixture. The lights currently are controlled by timers located at the subpanel box. New timers can go in the same location.
1. Photos seem to show the old concrete foundations may be in the need of some repairs or a cleaning at a minimum. Should we include a pressure-wash of the existing foundation before the new greenhouse is installed? Power washing the existing foundation after demolition is a great idea.
