Questions and Answers:

1). Who is the current vendor performing these duties?

Carlton Lyons

2). What is the current total contract amount for all years?

Estimated $46,000 per year. It will depend on the number of trips.

3). Is the "Mileage Chart" a sample of the current contract?

The blank chart is for prospective vendors to complete.

It represents the most common trip combinations made throughout the period of performance.

For the purposes of this contract, a “trip” is defined as the daily round or designated travel within the state of Georgia from the laboratory’s location to one or more pickup locations and back to the laboratory.

Regardless of the courier’s actual starting point the courier may only invoice (bill) for a “trip” listed in the accompanying mileage chart.

Only the most frequent trips have been outlined in the mileage chart rather than all possible scenarios.

Optional pickup locations are made based upon customer needs, and do not change the total mileage or round trip costs.

Other pickup locations and trip scenarios may exist than those listed in the mileage chart, and must be evaluated by laboratory management prior to pickup to establish costs.

Please quote a cost for each trip (line item) listed.

“Trip” costs have been estimated based upon a set monetary rate for the operation of a privately owned vehicle plus estimated fuel costs.

Individual quotes provided by vendors will be compared against these calculations as part of the consideration process.

4). Are all 32 line item deliveries performed each day?

No. Trips vary from day to day based upon the needs of our clients.

In general a driver would only make one trip daily but that trip could have multiple stops.

Rarely would a driver need to make more than one trip within a day.

5). How many drivers are being used?

One is sufficient but each vendor may determine the need for additional drivers based upon their current work load.

Please note coordination of trips is typically with our clients rather than the laboratory.

If multiple drivers are utilized then they must maintain timely contact with our clients to ensure prompt pickup and delivery of sample materials.
